First "real" battle wound

I got a call from the teachers at Mothers Morning Out yesterday. Lexie had tripped, fell, and then hit her eye on the corner of a plastic piano. The teachers said that she cried all for about 2 seconds then demanded to go outside and play on the playground. The teachers attempted to put ice on her eye but Lexie said it was "too cold."

I was tempted to go get her but the teachers said that she was doing fine. I went to get her and she was happy as a clam! She was talking up a storm and telling everyone Hi and Bye. I'm wondering if she was proud of her wound. . . .?

I've had 2 bad black eyes (2 different elbows from back in the days of cheerleading). I know that they hurt like heck. So I'm super impressed of my child's pain tolerence. Or maybe I should be unimpressed with the lack of my pain tolerence. . . .

The pics of course don't do the eye justice. I have a feeling it's going to look worse before it gets better.

Z's b'day party

Lexie and I had the pleasure of going to Zarin's 2nd birthday. Zarin is the daughter of one of my dearest friends, Mandy. Taylor is another little friend of Lexie's. Her Mama, Steph is also special to me. Who knew that when the 3 of us girls worked together, that we'd all get married and have precious little girls within 3 months of each other?! It has been such a blessing to have Mandy and Steph in my life as well as Z and Tay in Lexie's. It has been so much fun watching them grow and play together. I'm so thankful for such sweet friends!

What a M-E-S-S. . . .

What happens when you are stuck inside for days and days due to rain??? You get creative. . . .
Instead of eating the yogurt, my child decided to decorate her cup with it. Apparently coloring books can be boring. What's better than coloring your face with markers?

Luckily these were washable markers and they wiped right off. I'm so ready for the sunshine and warmer weather. I don't know if I can take another day of this creativity!
